91ֿ Elects Five New Members to its Board of Trustees
FAIRFIELD, Conn. (February 22, 2023) — 91ֿ, the leading independent child rights organization, announced today the election of five new members to its accomplished Board of Trustees.

A record-breaking global food emergency, consequences of climate change, the continuing effects of the pandemic, and conflicts across the world are among the critical threats to children’s wellbeing today and their prosperity tomorrow. This impressive group of trustees will ensure 91ֿ continues to meet the challenges of today,” said Janti Soeripto, President and CEO of 91ֿ. “These new trustees bring diverse expertise to our passionate and dedicated Board. With their insights and guidance, we will respond to children’s unique needs here in the US and worldwide.”
Dr. Wayne A. I. Fredrick is the seventeenth President of Howard University and the distinguished Charles R. Drew Professor of Surgery at the Howard University College of Medicine. He is also a practicing cancer surgeon at Howard University Hospital, where he continues to see patients and perform surgeries. Dr. Frederick is an expert on healthcare disparities and devotes his time to speaking about and advocating for social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. He also serves on the boards of numerous institutions and organizations, including the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and Humana Inc. Dr. Frederick is also a member of the American Surgical Association, the American Cancer Society, and the American College of Surgeons.
Anne Gates retired as President of MGA Entertainment, the largest privately held global toy company in the United States, in 2017. Prior to that, she spent more than twenty years at the Walt Disney Company in various roles, including Executive Vice President and CFO of the Consumer Products Division, based in Los Angeles, and Managing Director for Consumer Products Europe and Emerging Markets, based in London. In 2010, Anne was named to the Power List of Britain’s 100 most influential Black people. She is currently the Chair of the Tapestry Board. Additionally, Anne is Chair of the Audit Committees at Kroger and Cynosure (a Clayton, Dubilier & Rice-owned company). She also serves as Chair of the Governance and ESG committees for Tapestry and Raymond James Financial. Anne also serves on the Board of the Packard Foundation, Salzburg Global Seminar, and Public Media Group of Southern California.
Richard A. Johnson is a leader in the retail industry with a distinguished career that spans nearly 30 years. During his nearly three decades at Foot Locker, Johnson served as Chief Executive Officer until 2022, following two years as Chief Operating Officer and after holding multiple other divisional leadership roles across the globe. Johnson turned a
brick-and-mortar company into an interactive retail community poised for long-term growth in the digital era. Johnson extended his influence in the retail industry by serving as the Chair of the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) and on the Board of the Footwear Distributors & Retailers of America (FDRA). He also serves on the Board of H&R Block, Inc.
Julian C. Salisbury is the Chief Investment Officer of Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management and is a member of the Management Committee. Julian is also co-chair of the Asset Management Investment committees, including those for private equity, infrastructure, growth equity, credit, and real estate. Prior to assuming his current role, Julian was the global co-head of Goldman Sachs Asset Management and worked in the audit practice of KPMG. Julian serves on the Board of St. Bernard’s School and is a member of the Board of Directors of Sponsors for Educational Opportunity.
Pamela Stewart has spent over 20 years across the Coca-Cola System in various key executive roles in sales; operations; finance; revenue growth management; general management; foodservice on premise, and B2B retail business segments. She is the Chief Customer Officer – Retail for the North America Operating Unit of The Coca-Cola Company. Prior to this role, Pam was the President of West Zone Operations. Before her career at Coca-Cola, she spent several years in finance across the telecommunications industry. Pam is on the Board of Directors of the publicly traded Utz snacks brands company and a Board member of the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), The Coca-Cola Scholarship Foundation, 3DE by Junior Achievement, and the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) Foundation. She received numerous honors and awards, including the 2023 BET Iconic Executive Award and the 2022 Phoenix Award bestowed by the Mayor of Atlanta.
